JD.com Launches JD CENTRAL In Thailand


JD.com also known as Jingdong Mall has partnered with Central Group to expand to Southeast Asia. JD.com has now expanded its reach to the region through the launching of JD CENTRAL, an online platform. JD’s platform is already available in Indonesia, Tiki and Vietnam. The largest Chinese e-commerce platform is now set to increase its presence in the Southern Asia.

JD CENTRAL was opened in June for test operations. It provides direct sales as well as marketplace models. Since then, the sales have sky-rocketed. The online platform contains a variety of categories including electronics, digital products, books, music, fashion, fast-moving goods and home appliances. 80% of JD CENTRAL’s shoppers have accessed the platform using mobile phones. Fast-moving consumer goods such as toiletries, processed foods, cosmetics, beverages and many others registered as one of the top-selling categories in the platform. Products from prominent Chinese companies have moved fast as well. The leading brands that proved quite popular include Lenovo, Huawei, Xiaomi and OnePlus.

Jingdong has created a sophisticated retail operation over the years it has been in operation. It embraced cutting-edge technology at an early stage to build the network. Thai customers will now benefit from the company’s logistics expertise as well as unmatched delivery speeds.

JD CENTRAL relies on JD.com’s Warehouse Management System to power its warehouses. The logistics company plans to offer same-day delivery in Bangkok. JD CENTRAL will also partner with capable local delivery service providers to enable it offer countrywide coverage.
